Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Fans of Three Sea House rave about the crispy, perfectly seasoned fish. Many describe it as a delightful departure from typical British-style fish and chips, with a unique savory flair. Customers appreciate the generous portion sizes and the value for money, especially with combo meals that feel hearty and filling.

The homemade clam chowder and seafood chowder are standouts. Diners constantly recommend the seafood chowder for its richness and protein-packed ingredients, ideal for anyone on a budget. The friendly service from the dedicated team adds to its charm, ensuring a warm and inviting experience even during busy hours.

Most Disliked

While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some diners have noted that the fries can be a little standard compared to the standout fish. They report that while decent, they lack the same level of excitement found in other menu items.

Occasionally, diners share experiences of slight wait times during peak hours, which can be expected in a busy spot that prepares food fresh to order. A few have commented on the need for a bit of seasoning in the clam chowder, but these points seem minor in the grand scheme of an otherwise enjoyable meal.

This restaurant is my go-to spot, and also a sanctuary for self-thought when I want to hide from the busy city. Nestled in the plaza located on Rupert and Kingsway The Sea House serves harmony at value. Family operated, cooked to order, crispy lightly battered fish, hot fries, functional simple chairs and tables that do not wobble; this is the place I enjoy to gobble gobble😋. The homemade chowders are loaded, chunky soup redefined. There is a New England clam, and seafood chowder. Both are delicious. If seeking a comfort meal on budget of $10 I would strongly recommend the seafood chowder because it is a meal on its own cooked with love, packed with protein. 🐟 It has been an honour meeting the folks here and listening to granny tell stories of migration and building this business. My friends also love the food here. This restaurant and the people have warmed my heart. I am grateful for the beyond food experience, I felt family comfort here. Thank you team Sea House. Thank you Mrs. Mak (Poh Poh)

This is the cutest mom and pop shop. We had the family pack and it came with 10 pieces of fish (decent size), fries, 2 small coleslaw and gravy on the side. All for $50. We did the takeout and it was still super crispy when we got home (about 15 minutes). The fries were pretty average, but still very good. It's ran by 2 little old ladies and they are just the cutest team to have this restaurant running. This place have been around for a long time, I just never got around to trying it. So they must be doing something right. Prices are super reasonable. Parking is super easy as well. They have a parking lot right in front.

The Sea House Fish & Chips in Vancouver- Wow! What a hidden gem Mom & Pop Shop that’s been here for 27 years - can’t believe I’ve never heard about it. I had the Two Piece Fish & Chip + Clam Chowder Combo for $16.50. The crispy batter was so flavourful & thin. The fish was nice and moist inside. The Clam Chowder needed some salt and pepper, but fine otherwise. Service was friendly.. Will definitely be back! @thefoodiecarguy

Perfectly crispy and well-seasoned fish and chips! These aren’t like your typical British style fish and chips. They have a light and crispy coating with a different savoury flavour, while the fish is nice and flaky and not dry at all! This place is a true hidden gem run by a lovely couple who make everything fresh to order. Love the quality of the fries as well, and at these prices, you won’t find anywhere that does it better.

A quaint fish & chips place in East Van. It's hard to find something like this here. It has a bit of a diner style feel to it in the interiors. Looking for the cheapest fish? How's $5.50? For this price, it's not cod or halibut but it's pretty decent regardless. Since it was our first time, we tried both the sole and halibut (6 pieces in total) with fries, drink and sides attached to one set. Definitely an amazing place especially for anyone on a budget or simply out to support local 'mom & pop' shops. The original owners are a Cantonese senior couple who started in 1997. Their daughter-in-law was also there. After we devoured it, it came to almost $50. Well worth the money. Definitely, we'll return when we're missing the fish & chips from the Sunshine Coast. Free parking on the streets and in the plaza. Can't remember if they take all forms of payments but I gave them cash.

There is so much love and sincerity put into the preparation and cooking of this food…and it shows. 2 older women cooking and serving, literally running back and forth looking after people. Great value, varied menu. Parking on site is limited but plenty in the area. Did I say GREAT VALUE? Thank you Thank you 💕💐 Ordered the prawns today since the other meals were EXCELLENT! $8 for these 6 “prawns” more like wee shrimp. Disappointed with this. Not even a lemon wedge or garnish. Stick to the A+ fish and chips!

We got there at a quiet time right after school. Only one other table at the time. It is an old restaurant with an open kitchen. It’s not the cleanest restaurant, but the food was delicious! Owners are super friendly! Chowders came out quickly. A bit of a wait for the rest of the food, but 15 mins wasn’t a big deal for us. There was a grandmother battering and frying up the fish, and did an amazing job at it. It got busy real quick with more people coming in for pick-ups/takeouts and for dining in. Those customers had to wait a long time for their meals. Two elderly ladies plus an elderly man running the kitchen and dining area, don’t see that everyday. If you don’t mind waiting for some good fish and chips, at a great price, this is the place for you. Everything we ordered was great other than the calamari. Highly recommend trying them out.
